01 VARIETY AND UNIQUENESS OF TREATMENTS
Points are awarded for the variety or uniqueness of treatments, (but specialization and doing a few things really well) is also taken into consideration.
02 EASE OF BOOKING, APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
This factor assesses the manner of booking (online vs. phone call vs. email), as well as ease of booking several treatments together and the availability of the staff. Method of appointment reminders is important as well as friendliness and helpfulness of staff are considered here.
03 Atmosphere & cleanliness
Factors such as the overall atmosphere, lighting, decor, scent, music selection, sense of relaxation, cleanliness, and how up to date the spa is. Privacy as well as a quiet treatment room is evaluated here. If there is a relaxation room available, it is also mentioned here.
04 amenities & Extras
Points are awarded for bonuses such as offerings (herbal water, tea, snacks), heated treatment beds, and anything else that stands out. Hotel/resort spas get extra points for having saunas, steam rooms, and pools, while wellness spas get extra points for having infrared saunas, as appropriate. Day spas do not lose points for not having these.
