First Hydrafacial Treatment Experience.. What to Expect?

I have heard a lot about Hydrafacials and wanted to experience one for myself. I couldn't pass up the allure of having hydrated, glass skin and booked one, so I could tell you all about it! For my first visit, I booked a Signature Hydrafacial. To note, I also had a dermaplaning facial done one week before to remove peach fuzz and excess dead skin so the Hydrafacial could have maximal benefits.
Hydrafacial Treatment Options
There are three tiers to choose from when booking a Hydrafacial. The Signature is a 30-minute options that involves cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and hydration. The Deluxe is 40 minutes and involves the signature plus a booster serum and LED light therapy. The Platinum is 60 minutes and additionally includes a lymphatic drainage massage.
The App
MyBeauty Health is the Hydrafacial official App which will award you with $15 off your first treatment when you sign up. I reached out to the company, and there does not appear to be any type of referral program unless you are a Hydrafacial provider. Also, it states that you can earn rewards for Hydrafacial treatments but it doesn't appear to work with all the spas that offer Hydrafacials or it is just unclear how to earn these rewards in the App. As of right now, the phone app does not appear to have a large benefit except for your first Hydrafacial and it also allows you to find providers in your area. The app is most beneficial to treatment providers.
How Hydrafacials Work
Hydrafacials offer Lymphatic Drainage, Microdermabrasion, Peel, Extraction, LED light therapy, Hydration, and Specialized Serums. You will receive some of these depending on which tier of treatment you booked.
At the end of your treatment, you get to see your "Gunkie" which is a container with the treatment waste water so you can see what impurities were removed from your face.
According to Allure.com "Rather than blasting the skin with grit via traditional dermabrasion, this gentler approach vacuums out pores while simultaneously pushing in potent actives that moisturize, brighten, plump, and protect. The machine's handpiece holds patented spiralized treatment tips equipped with "vortex technology" — the whirling force that both giveth and taketh away."
My Experience
The treatment started with a cleanse of my skin by the esthetician. Next was the first pass, which felt like the device was depositing a serum on my skin, which was rubbed in section by section.
The next step was a second pass that involved a lot more suction, which I believe was an extraction step to remove impurities.
Next, there was a short break while I received an excellent next and shoulder massage.
Finally, there was a third pass which felt like the serum being deposited on my skin again, with a finish of lotion on my face and seeing my Gunkie results.

Would I Recommend a Hydrafacial?
You can see my photo results in this post. They are not extremely dramatic. My skin looked and felt more hydrated after, and I had a lot of discoloration in my Gunkie water results. The esthetician missed my upper lip area, which I am not sure if that was intentional. They also did not cover my jawline or under my chin area.

My results were not overly dramatic, but I plan to try a longer Hydrafacial treatment at another location and give it another chance.
