What are salt rooms and why are they all the rage?

What: Relaxing in a salt room environment can temporarily relieve lung ailments and provide a reprieve from allergens, according to the American Lung Association.
Additionally, the dimly lit environment is very soothing and relaxing. It is known as a salt room or salt cave interchangeably, and sometimes halotherapy.
Why: So why should you try a salt room? It's the next best thing to breathing in the clean ocean breeze without the travel and hassle of sand. If you have the opportunity to relax in a salt room, I highly recommend it!
Time and Cost: Salt rooms (or caves) "treatments" typically range from a half an hour to an hour, and cost about $40 per session for a half an hour, depending on where you go.
Spa Savvy Pro Tip: Be sure to bring clean white socks, or be prepared to purchase special socks at the storefront.
I have personally tried and recommend Salt Cave of Darien, you can visit here.
I've compiled a list of other salt caves all around Connecticut, so you can find one in your area:
