There's something so cozy about going to the spa on a rainy day. It's the perfect way to relax, and not miss out on any sunny weather activities. Today I ventured out to West Hartford to try out my first head spa and infrared sauna experience.

✨ Services Received

Of course, If I'm going to a head spa for the first time, I want to go all out! I went for this package "The Ultimate Head Spa: Indulge in a luxurious journey dedicated to nurturing your scalp health, where relaxation meets rejuvenation. Experience the harmony of our signature massage techniques, soothing aromatherapy, and premium products, all designed to elevate your well-being. Our advanced technology allows for a personalized scalp analysis, ensuring that your unique needs are thoughtfully addressed in this tranquil oasis."

At the beginning, we could see a lot of product build up on my scalp, but otherwise a fairly healthy scalp. I received treatment which included a mini facial and mask, shoulder rub, hair treatment and light blow dry. The duration was an hour and thirty minutes.

The atmosphere was decorated nicely, but I think they could benefit from a better building - I could hear the road traffic, the client in the next room, and check-out at the cash register. Luckily, the music helped to drown that out. Also, I would keep the treatment to no more than hour, because it hurts your head and back after some time.

Overall it was very soothing and the bonus was they told me what hair type I was, apparently I am a 2b! I would definitely go again when I need a scalp refresh.

Since the theme was trying new things, I then went to Beem Light Sauna and relaxed in a booth with infrared light therapy, something new for me. The infrared light makes you sweat without getting too hot, so it detoxes you, while red light (which they also offer) is more for healing, not sweating.

It was very new and clean and you get your own room with your own mini-sauna! You can play music or watch Netflix while you relax and sweat. I felt amazing after and I highly recommend!
